Cowford River Monster — It Never Left, St. Johns River 1955

Every river town has something living under the bridge. Ours showed up in 1955, when a Hollywood crew came to Marineland and the St. Johns to film a monster movie, then packed up and went home. The monster didn’t. This is the shirt for people who grew up hearing that story, or who’ve been out on the water at low tide and felt watched.

The art is an original hand-drawn scratchboard illustration: a swamp beast rising off an oyster bed under a full moon, the Dames Point Bridge lit up behind it, sabal palms and marsh grass closing in. Drip lettering reads IT NEVER LEFT up top, ST. JOHNS RIVER, 1955 below. Printed big on a heavyweight black tee so the white ink hits hard.
